OTS Releases November Enforcement Statistics

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan., 31, 2000 -- The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) reported today that it completed four enforcement action in November 1999.

This brought to 51 the number of enforcement actions by OTS since January 1, 1999.

For the month of November 1999 there were:

The following orders were issued in November:

  1. Joe W. Walser, Jr., former director, Oak Tree Savings Bank, S.S.B., New Orleans, La., order to cease and desist and order of assessment of civil money penalty, dated November 22, 1999.
  2. Carnegie Savings Bank, Carnegie, Pa., supervisory agreement, dated November 22, 1999.
  3. Decision and Order, CityFed Financial Corp., approving hardship request to pay $140,000 in settlement of claims for former employees, dated November 3, 1999.
