The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) is joining with Citi to hold a conference on June 4 to address shortages of affordable housing in New York City and other high-cost urban areas.
OTS is sponsoring—and Citi is hosting—the conference, “Gaps in Affordable Housing in High-Cost Urban Areas,” at the Citi Center at 153 East 53rd Street in New York City.
Experts in housing policy, development and financing will examine the causes of these gaps and share success stories in closing them. The experts will also discuss economic and social impacts, and explore the role of government in forging solutions.
OTS Director John Reich will deliver remarks.
For more information and to register, visit the OTS website. Information is also available from OTS Northeast Region Community Affairs Liaison Francis Baffour at (201) 413-7343 or Marie McBeth at (201) 413-7319.
The Office of Thrift Supervision, an office of the Department of the Treasury, regulates and supervises the nation's thrift industry. OTS's mission is to ensure the safety and soundness of, and compliance with consumer protection laws by, thrift institutions, and to support their role as home mortgage lenders and providers of other community credit and financial services. OTS also oversees the activities and operations of thrift holding companies that own or control thrift institutions. Copies of OTS news releases and other documents are available at the OTS web page at www.ots.treas.gov.
