OTS Appoints Michael E. Finn Northeast Regional Director

Washington, D.C. — The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) announced today the appointment of Michael E. Finn as Regional Director of the OTS Northeast Region.

Finn, currently the Regional Director for the OTS West Region, will assume his new responsibilities in September. He began his regulatory career in the New York office of the OTS’s predecessor agency and worked as an examiner for 10 years before taking a taking a senior position at OTS headquarters in early 2002. Finn assumed leadership of the West Region in 2004, directing oversight of several of the nation’s largest thrift institutions.

“I am pleased that this opportunity allows Mike to return to his New York roots and family,” said Scott M. Polakoff, Senior Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of OTS. “Mike’s wealth of experience in complex financial institutions will serve him well in the Northeast and I know we can continue to expect great things from him.”

At OTS headquarters in Washington, Finn served as Assistant Managing Director for Complex & International Operations. His duties included overseeing the supervisory strategy for several of OTS’s most complex organizations, working with OTS regions on examination issues and coordinating with U.S. and foreign supervisors on international issues.

Finn began his career in 1986 as a financial analyst in the New York district office of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, the OTS’s predecessor agency.
