Washington, D.C. — The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) announced today the appointment of Charlotte M. Bahin as Senior Counsel for Special Projects.
Ms. Bahin will begin work May 27 at OTS headquarters in Washington, D.C. She is currently a partner in the law firm of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, working in the bank regulatory and transactional practice group. She has experience in counseling financial institutions about supervisory, compliance and transactional matters.
Before joining the law firm, Ms. Bahin was Senior Vice President for Regulatory Affairs at America’s Community Bankers. She has published numerous articles on regulatory and compliance matters, and has published a book for bank directors.

Bowman, OTS Deputy Director and Chief Counsel. “Having worked in the financial services industry in a variety of capacities, Charlotte brings to the OTS a wealth of experience and insight that will assist us in carrying out our supervisory responsibilities.”
Ms. Bahin received her undergraduate degree from Kenyon College in Ohio and her law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C.
The Office of Thrift Supervision, an office of the Department of the Treasury, regulates and supervises the nation's thrift industry. OTS's mission is to ensure the safety and soundness of, and compliance with consumer protection laws by, thrift institutions, and to support their role as home mortgage lenders and providers of other community credit and financial services. OTS also oversees the activities and operations of thrift holding companies that own or control thrift institutions.
