Nation's Foremost Experts Headline National Housing Forum Next Week

Washington, D.C. — Senior leaders in housing and mortgage finance from across the government and private sector will headline the second National Housing Forum hosted by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) next week in Washington.

The all-day Forum will be on Monday, December 3, at the National Press Club at 14th and F streets, NW, beginning with registration at 8 a.m.

The Forum will focus on some of the most timely and important topics about housing today, including the outlook for the U.S. housing market and its potential impact on financial institutions, challenges and risks in the home mortgage market, consumer protection issues in housing finance, including the growing problem of foreclosures, and the impact of capital markets on housing finance.

Expected speakers include Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr.; Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson; Frederick Cannon, Managing Director of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods; Kerry K. Killinger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Washington Mutual, Inc.; Angelo R. Mozilo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Countrywide Financial Corp.; Robert I. Toll, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Toll Brothers Inc.; Dr. Mark Zandi, Chief Economist and co-founder of Moody’s Economy.com; John Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition; Kenneth D. Wade, Chief Executive Officer of NeighborWorks America; Daniel H. Mudd, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fannie Mae; and Thomas Zimmerman, Managing Director, UBS Warburg, LLC. Other key industry executives, consumer group leaders and community organization officers are also expected.
