Most importantly, the briefing will focus on the standardized Good Faith Estimate (GFE) form and revised HUD-1 Settlement Statement that lenders will be required to use as of January 1, 2010.

Speakers include: Ivy Jackson, Director of HUD's Office of RESPA Enforcement; Bart Shapiro, Deputy Director of HUD's Office of RESPA Enforcement; April Breslaw, Director of Consumer Regulation, OTS; and Rhonda Daniels, Senior Program Analyst, OTS.

2009 Outreach Meetings

I am pleased to provide you with the logistical details for our remaining outreach meetings this year in the Western Region. Regional Deputy Directors Gary Scott and Edwin Chow, as well as our Assistant Directors and Field Mangers, from the Western Region will join me in these meetings.

We are holding the outreach meetings to provide informal opportunities for thrift executives and regional managers to discuss issues facing the thrift industry. We also plan to share our views on regulatory and examination issues, and we will seek your input on challenges you see in your business and markets. We especially look forward to hearing from you about the risks and issues you may be seeing in your local economies and in the various real estate markets in which you lend.

Enclosed you will find a registration form for the outreach meetings with the dates and locations where the outreach meetings will be held. I encourage you to attend one of the four sessions scheduled for the second half of this year. You are free to attend the session that is the most convenient for you. If you cannot attend, we ask that you arrange for one of your senior officers to participate.
